Dear Members,
Sorry, the last message was sent inadvertently when I hit the send button.
Many of you know about the Ship "Loyal Judith" which arrived in Philadelphia on
25 Sep 1732.
They traveled up the Delaware River to their port of arrival. This information came from
two men
Ralph Beaver Strassburger LLD, and Edited by William John Hinke PHD, D.D.
In the early 1930's they took on the herculean task, of transcribing these Ship
Lists.
There works were published in 1934 under the title of Pennsylvania German Pioneers.
There were three volumes published and they are very expensive, and very hard to find.
Using my Internet sleuthing talents honed over almost twenty years, I found an online
link
to their transcribed book. This was donated by the University of Indiana. This is the link
to the
book :

I know that some of you have other German Pioneers, so maybe this will help.
This is Volume I which covers 1727-1775. There are many pages to cover but there is a
search
feature to use. Just take your time and use patience and you should find what your
seeking.
For those of you who don't know about the journey's themselves, this proved
interesting.
The trips from Cowes, England took at best seven weeks, and at most twelve weeks. These
ships
were packed tight and disease prevailed. The children were of course most venerable, and
died from
Dysentery, Scurvy, Typhoid fever, Small Pox, and other aliments.
One ship it was mentioned that thirty two children perished.
Of course many days the ships were tossed by terrible storms.
So it took many brave people to embark on these long trips.
Good Luck in Your Research,
Earl D. Cagle Sr.
