So are we saying Leonhart and first wife Maria had children other than the daughter also
named the same (but reversed the name of the mother to reduce identity confusion)? Or can
there be the possibility of same/similar names and dates leading to confusion, like the
Cagle line, which uses the same handful of names repeatedly? Ex. Johan, Han, Johannes etc.

It is an interesting record to be sure. Knowing that Maria Elisabetha was his first
marriage, this is why I became immediately interested and didn't just dismiss it. The
spouse's father's name is also listed on the link I sent after emailing the first
message. Spouse's (Maria Elisabetha) father is Michael Trautwein. Age of Leonhardt at
marriage in 1711 would have been ~27. I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but
the plausibility of this record being linked to our Leonhardt was too exciting for me not
to share!

Notes for Meria Elizabeth Magdalena:
Little is know for Maria Elizabeth, she married Leonhart Kegel.
See notes following: 1729 Confirmation Register:
The confirmation in 1729: Maria Margareta Kegel (Dau) and his late wife
Maria Elizabeth (Mrs. Leonhart Kegel) may require some adjustment in
linking, regarding the structor of the early Kegel/Cagle family. The 1728
Baptism, which shows Leonhard married to (2 wife) Susanna, would suggest
that he had remarried after Maria Elizabeth's death, and that he had an
older and a younger set of children. The dates will need to be adjusted the
confirmation records show Maria Elizabeth to be deceased by 1729, later the
records show Leonhart to have children before her death and the mother to
indicate Leonhart 2nd wife Mrs. Susannah Cagle to be the mother. John G

feasible and the area in Germany.Like you I don't have the records to look
this up further. So to the Cagle list, what do you think?Earl D. Cagle Sr.

Earl and list,
I just happened upon something interesting while going through ancestry
hints to see what popped up. I do not have the subscription to look up
anything internationally, but this is what I was able to see:
> From the database of "Germany, Select Marriages, 1558-1929"
> From this record:
Name: Leonhard Kegel
Gender: male
Marriage Date: 21 Apr 1711
Marriage Location: Evangelisch, Muhlbach, Heidelberg, Baden
Wife: Maria Elisabetha Trautwein
Father: Friedrich Kegel
Is this our Leonhart(d) Kegel. If so, the father is right here in this
record!
