The message from LaMona Phillips hits my Cagle line. I am descended from
William C. Cagle (abt 1754) and Mary "Barrett" Cagle (abt 1759), through
their son John Cagle born 1802 in Moore County, NC. John Cagle
married Phereby (Feruby) Rogers, 22 Feb 1827 in Blount County, TN. Their
daughter, Phereby "Ferbie Lee" Cagle, born 05 Aug 1845 in TN, was my
g-grandmother. She married Stephen Decator Saffell 05 Aug 1863 in TN.
His parents were James Saffell and Mary "Polly" Webb (daughter of Larkin
Webb). So, I have Cagles, Saffells and Webbs in this line.

Maxine & List,
Like you & others I also don't beleive all those
children were William & Mary Cagle's.
This famly as I have stated before, settled in
Sevier Co; Tn.
They first appear there in the 1840 census.
Besides William & Mary's listing, there are a total
of eight heads of households.
There are three William Cagle's, that are listed
besides William Sr.
John Cagle, Elijah Cagle, Henry Cagle, Isham Cagle. Looks to me like
William Jr; John, Henry,
and George, are William & Mary's sons. The others
are more likely grandchildren.
