You also need "Cagle Census Records of the South, 1790 to 1850" also by John
G. Cagle and you are in business. With the book you mentioned below, there
is none better.

Re The Cagles: I was at the McClung Historical Research Center in
Knoxville, TN and found a book entitled "Cagle Family in the South to
1850", Vol. 1 NC. Is this is good starter source for Cagle research?
