Gary,
Mom's note said 1780 but since they didn't arrive in Missouri until
1845 I figured she had to have written it down wrong. Now I'll have
to contact her and find out what the heck she did mean.
Yeah, we noticed there was a lot of confusion about all the Leonards
and were happy to get our end straight.
By the way, in your genealogy research have you noticed what name is
usually assigned "Molly" as a nickname? We've seen "Polly"
for Mary
and "Sally" for Sarah....
Sorry about the confusion with Leonard's will date--I'll get it
straight and try again!

Hi Jan,
I noticed that you said that Leonard left his wife his land in 1880. I was
under the impression that he died in 1845. For years I thought this Leonard
was my ancestor
but discovered last year that he wasn't. My Leonard had sons Jacob, Joseph,
John F and Benjamin F. This is also JohnG Cagle's line, you would think it
would be less confusing with all the work he has done.
Anyhow I was curious and wanted to see if 1880 was a typo or what. Thanks
for your contributions to the list. Yours is the first message in 2 days. I
thought the list was dead. Take care.

Subject: Leonard and Elizabeth Cagle, Jasper County, Missouri
: Hey Cousins,
:
: In 1880 Leonard left his land in Jasper County, Missouri to his wife
: Elizabeth (nee Smith) but we are unable to locate a land record to
: place it on a map. According to gg-uncle Ollie some time after they
: moved to Missouri in 1845 they bought the "old Kellogg place" across
: Spring River from Carthage. Does anyone know where this was? We
: found all kinds of LaForce relative's farms in the area but not
: Cagles.
:
: We are also unable to locate Leonard's grave. Was he buried on their
: farm?
:
: Help! Help!
:
: Thanks....
