Welcome!
I'm relatively new as well. My ancestor go back oonly to Tabithia Ann
(Nancy) Cagle born in 1822 and Married to reuben Tucker Hill born in 1818. Someone
shared the infor back to Lion Heart Cagle AKA Leonhart Kagel. I haven't however
made a firm connection yet.
I am facinated by the French ancestry as my mother sang a french / german
worded song to me as a child. I can still hear her singing OleR ?? Ocean see,
Notra Dame (du Paree, sounds French)Von Doma, Von Doma.(Von Doma, sounds German)
The Dome obviously is the Dome of Notradame in Paris. Ocean Sea(german spelling)
self explanatory. The word ole-r is unknown and spelled phonetically. It sound
alot like the name of the Paris airport of today. French and German words!.
Kagel=French-German. Any clues, any comments, anyone. Dr. Bob!

Hello everyone:
I've just been added to the list so bear with me if I'm asking questions that
have been asked many times before. I am a descendent of Charles Cagle b1791
and Polly (Demonbreun) Demumbry b abt 1792 and married 1810 in Nashville, TN.
I have Charles' siblings and most of his ancestry back to Leonhart Kegel. I'm
looking for the names of all of Charles and Polly's children. I descend from
their son William who married Catherine Proctor, their daughter Lottie Cagle
who married Jack Jim Proctor and grand daughter Bettie Elizabeth Proctor who
married Sam Jefferson Bennett (my great grandparents). Again, I'm looking for
siblings and any birth, death or marriage dates that may be available.
If anyone is interested I have detailed ancestry on Polly (Demonbreun)
Demumbry Cagle dating back to the 1500's in France. Will be glad to share my
information.
Glad to be on the Cagle forum and feel free to ask me any questions if my
names happen to be in your ancestry line.
