Earl,
I will disagree for the sake of argument, primarily because I have
followed the views of John G. Cagle for all these years and don't see a
reason to change just yet. Perhaps you have something that I am not
aware of.
It had been the opinion of most that Jacob Cagle who moved to Hall Co.,
GA was the son of John Dutchman? I personally don't have any proof one
way or the other. Also, I believe I have read that the John Cagle in the
Orange Co. Tax records was the son of David, also in Orange records and
that they show in those records as such?. If not the son of John
Dutchman, who is the Jacob Cagle in Hall Co., GA?

David & List,
Nice to hear your point of view on, Jacob.
Lets think this through a little. It is known that
David Cagle, was born in 1728.
In 1755 the year of the tax list, he would have
been abt. 27. So he wouldn't have had a son
old enough to appear on tax records.
David, when did this Jacob Cagle, first appear
on Georgia records?
We know the Jacob I refer to as being b. 1755.
There was a Jacob Cagle b. abt 1766, and he
is the one who settled in Hall Co; Ga.
Now all we have to do is get them attached to
the proper father.
Earl
