Hi Cagle Cousins,
From another mail list I received notice of an update to the BLM land
records
of the Government Land Patent Office. In checking the Cagle applications I
find listed 11 pages of names, 24 to each page for all states. Four in
Alabama
alone.

This is an extremely valuable resource. Each listed name will display details
of the patent and even allow a download of an image of the actual patent. It
gives details such as location, dates, size of allocation, etc.
These can extremely helpful in placing an individual and family in a location
at a given time. It takes time to load the paperwork for display, depending on
the speed of your browser, but is well worth the time and effort.
My Chambers list is 44 pages long, so between Cagles and Chambers, I'll
spend a
lot of hours, but the actual documentation is worth it.
Best wishes, and Good luck in your searches.
