Earl,
Are the people sending out these political/religious e-mails, regular
members of the mail list? Is there any way for you to tell? Or can
anyone, with any agenda, join the list and send out whatever they want
with no consequence? Is there any way to screen the list and
remove/suspend someone sending out inappropriate material after fair
warning?
Thanks!

Tom,
Some are and some are not members. However, keep in mind anyone can send
a message to any list, if the have the addess.
When they do it will show they are not a member.
E-mail lists, are a favorite of junk mailers. The
sponsor of this list Rootsweb, does an excelent job of bocking unwanted
"spam".
Yes, I can remove anyone from the Cagle list.
Also I know the e-mail address for everyone
subscribed.
In the two plus years of this list I have not had
to remove anyone. On occasion rootsweb
fais to block some "spam". Then we get to look
at some unwanted junk mail. The first thing I do
is hit the delete.
Also, on occasion some folks forward or send
a political or religious message.
This is on a rare occasion and has not been a
real bother.
If it does however, I will issue a warning and if
need be, remove that person from the list.
Regards,
Earl
