son of Jacob Cagle, ca 1766-1850, who had moved to Ga from Moore County,
North Carolina , in the 1830 Census . Joseph Roland lived near his father
in Hall County, GA. but in the 1830s he migrated to Cherokee County, GA.
Where he settled permanently and appeard in the census of 1840, 1850 and
1860 .

Sarah Haynes 1812-1853 was George's first wife, Sarah died not long after
they moved to Cherokee County . George's second wife was Ann Stoner, was
Mary ann "Annie" Thompson, b. 1825, who had first married Isaac Stoner in
1840, by whom she had seven children , It has been reported that Isacc
Stoner, at some point after the birth of Andrew Asburry, deserted his family
and moved West, after which Ann Secured a divorce and married George
Washington Cagle. Ann and George had four children .

Notes for Mary Ann "Annie" Thomason:
Mary Ann 1st. marriage was to Isaac Stoner in 1840 and they had seven
children . Andrew Asbury Stoner 1856-1943 was their youngest son, after he
was born it has been said that Isaac Stoner deserted his family and moved
West, after this Ann secured a divorce and married George Washington Cagle.
Pension Application of 1909, filed by Mrs Annie Cagle of Pickens Co., Ga.
Annie Cagle, born 1825 in Lincoln County, North Carolina, had married George
W. Cagle, 1812-1891, in Cherokee County, Georgia, on September 9, 1858.
During the War , George W.. had seved in the Cherokee Legion, a home guard
unit, composed primarily of older men, which patrolled the nothern Georgia
area. Annie;s appliction, which was filed on the grounds of age, poverty and
blindness, was apprived in 1910. the 1910 Census of Pickens Co., GA shows Mrs
Annie Cagle, age 86, residing with her daughter from her first marriage,
Maryann Stoner. The application indicates that George W. Cagle died in
Pickens county, his tombstone stands in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, in
adjoining Cherokee County.

Georgia. She married James Day February 20, 1855 in Cherokee County ,
Georgia, son of Oswald Day and Rebecca Barrett. He was born August 29, 1835,
and died February 05, 1878.
Notes for Mary Elizabeth Cagle:
Marriage bond 19, 1855. Married February 20, 1855, by Joshua McConnell, JP.
After the Civil War Mary and her husband James Day moved to Hardin County,
Kentucky, where they established permanent residence and reared their family
of seven children born between the years 1855 and 1872.
Mary was one of four or five children who were missed by the census taker in
1850.
Notes for James Day:
James Day was operating a grist mill in the vicinity of Marietta, Georgia,
at the time of the Civil War, and family legend tells that it, like most
buildings in the path of Sherman's army, met destuction . It is not know why
the Day family or some members of it came to Hardin County, Kentucky after
the War.
