Nancy Balmer,
Thanks for the last two or three items of data you have submitted. The
Cagle families of Cherokee County, GA, are among my present research
projects. I have a great deal of data already, both in my gedcom and on
paper files awaiting entry.
I have several of the children of some of these families which are not
yet included in your files. As I get my files updated, I will forward them
to you along with the sources.
The last submission regarding Benjamin Cagle Sr., and his son Benjamin
Jr., is close to my own family research. I have much more on both than
shows in your file. I will send that also. Benjamin Sr, and his wife
Parthenia Jinks Cagle, were my gggrandparents. A lot of us descend from
this line, including John G. Cagle, who writes the historical journals,
LeRoy Cagle, myself, and Gerri Cagle George. Gary Hawley descends from
Benjamins brother Joseph.
One item which appears in your submission puzzles me though. In your
file regarding Benjamin Cagle Jr. and his wife Anna Cook ( John G.s line),
you show as Generation No. 3, James Spencer Stirling. This is probably
included from the CD. James Spencer Stirling was my great uncle, and
brother to my grandfather Charles Hampton Sterling. They were two of the
Children of Anna Caroline Cagle, first born of Benjamin F. Cagle Sr. and
Parthenia Jinks Cagle. The only relationship with Benjamin Jr, was uncle
and nephew.
Leroy descends from Augustus Cagle and Sabra Ann Hart Cagle, through
their son John Robert Cagle. We are still searching for some missing
information in this line.
I attempted to print out all this data for the mail list, but my
genealogy program will not group the families for print out. Just the
descendant list with notes exceeds 3500 pages of data. Dont think my mail
program would handle it either.
Ill extract the relevant data and submit it when possible. We here in
Alabama are anticipating the arrival of a foot of snow and ice very
shortly, so it may take a few days. Were not used to that much winter at
one time <g>
Best wishes, Doyle
