Hello List,
Happy New Year to everyone. I posted some updated information on my g-
grandmother Mary E. Cagle, to the Cagle Family Genealogy Forum. So to save time
I will copy this information here.
After a few years of frustration on a family member I think I have solved my
brick wall. Mary Elvira Cagle b. 8-1860 in Arkansas. She is my g-grandmother.
She married Thomas William Cagle b. 4-1-1840 in Hickman Co; Tn. He died on
8-29-1917 in Charleston Mississippi Co; Mo. They were married on 7-24-1877 in
Oregon Co; Mo. On their marriage certificate she as listed as Mary E. Cagle. To
this day I haven't been able to find her family. So is her madien name Cagle, or
something else.
The last census they were together in was the 1900 Mississippi Co; Mo; census.
It finally dawned on me to check the marriage status of Thomas Cagle, in the
1910 census. He is listed in the 1910 Hickman Co; Tn; census with their daughter
Ida Mae Cagle age 14. His marital status is shown as a widow. Thomas Cagle's,
younger brother William Cagle, settled in Red River Co; Tx; in the late 1880's.
He and his family members are buried in Lanes Chapel Cemetery in Clarksville,
Texas. A few months ago I found a death record online for a Mary E. Cagle. The
death record is very minimal in information. She died on 7-25-1905 in Peters
Prarie Red River Co; Tx. Her age is given as 43. Estimated birth year 1862.

Her husband is buried as T. W. Cagle d. 8-29-1917 in Charleston, Mo. He is
buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston, Mo. Their sons and daughter are
buried there also. So for some reason she went to Clarksville, Texas after the
1900 census. And died there in 1905. My puzzle remains as to who her family was.
I have had many people helping me with her research over the years. I appreciate
every ones help.
Regards,
Earl D. Cagle Sr.
