HEREDITARY HEMOCHROMATOSIS
Hereditary Hemochromatosis,[HH]
is a genetic condition of iron overload affecting approximately 1 out of
200-300 people, with 1 in 8-10 people being carriers.
It is 100% fatal if not diagnosed early & treated aggressively, yet with
early diagnosis & treatment, one can expect a normal life span.
In this table you will find many of the symptoms or problems that may be
associated with Hereditary Hemochromatosis. In the near future, I hope to
upload all resources, articles, etc. which I have on hand, & place them under
their corresponding symptoms/problems in this table. Presently, the only
section which has these available are the HEART, LIVER & IRON IN THE BRAIN.
If you click on these sections, it will take you to resources related to that
particular topic. If anyone finds any missing links, or knows of a resource
which I might want to add to my list, please let me know! Check back often &
I will update you as I have more available!

Is there a connection to iron in the brain?
The lab tests that you should ask your doctor to do are:
· Iron
· Ferritin
· Total Iron Binding Capacity [TIBC]
· Transferrin Saturation[TS]
There is also a genetic test now available that you can do in the comfort of
your home, without needles!
More information on it can be found in the links below.
There are 10 right now in my family that we kown of having it, 6 of us that
are in treatment now. there are 5 distant cousins off the Charles Cagle 1780
and Susannah Cagle 1781 that have it, there children are Henry Edward Cagle

treatment just will not have blood taken as often. In my family my dad, me
my daughter, and one 7 year old grandson all have gene C282Y (there are other
gene's and some unknown gene's that have not been found yet) My cousin off my
aunts family 2 of her children have it and are in treatment now with the gene
C282Y there sister will not get tested??) and another aunt and her two
daughters 1 in treatment now.
