This is as close as I can get to your Jesse Cagle. Read the notes and

Descendants of Jesse J Cagle
Generation No. 1
1. Jesse J6 Cagle (Greenberry S5, Leonard4, Roger Sr3, Leonard2,
Leonhart1 Kegel) was born 1849 in Dentville, Copiah County, Mississippi.
He married Mary Chance.
Notes for Jesse J Cagle:
The Mississippi Soundex of Marriages at the Ms Dept of Archives and
History at Jackson, MS records
the marriage of J. J. Cagle to M. B. Hennis in Copiah Co., MS on Nov 24,
1867. Cannot determine if this
is our Jesse at this time. The LDS IGI documents a daughter, Josephine,
born to Jesse Cagle and Mary Chance at Hazelhurst, Copiah Co., MS, on 17
Sep 1874. No other record has been found to shed further
light on the incident but no other Jesse seems to fit into this picture.
On 17 Mar 1856, Jesse J Cagle borrowed $200 fromn Monroe and William Hood
and pledged the following as security: " The entire crop of corn and
cotton raised by him on the place known as Greenberry Cagles and one
Sorrel Pony Horse 7 or 8 yrs old now in possession of said Jesse J. Cagle
and also the following described lands to wit.....80 acres more or less."
The following notation was on the back of a family group sheet of
Greenberry's family provided by Mrs Louise Kimbell of Wesson, MS. "Jesse
J. Cagle married and left Crystal Springs, Copiah, Miss, about 1878 - no
further information believe he settled in Coahoma Co., Miss."
Several Cagles from AL who appear to be related, moved into Coahoma
County during the Civil War and shortly thereafter; however, no evidence
appeared indicating Jesse was among them.
During the settlement of Greenberry's estate in 1886, a summons was sent
to the Sheriff of Pike Co., MS and was returned with the notation,
indicating he was not in their county and that he was said to be in
Texas. It is possible the Jefferson J. Cagle who was enumerated in the
1900 Census of McLennan Co, TX, could be this Jessie J. He is listed as
a boarder in Precinct No.1, 1522 River Street, Waco, TX. He
is reported as age 49, born August 1850, Mississippi.
More About Jesse J Cagle:

Child of Jesse Cagle and Mary Chance is:
2 i. Josephine7 Cagle, born 17 September 1874

Thanks. I've been in touch with Jimmy in the past and he didn't
have the
connection for my family. Perhaps I should contact him again to see
if he
has learned anything new.
