Randall, Please tell me which Jacob this is that you inquire about the
Rev War record for. I have a Jacob also .Maybe I should know, if there
was only one Jacob in that war---but I don't. I just started my
research, this year, on my deceased husbands family, and with Lee's
help, I have a lot.But I don't know these kind of things yet.There were
so many Jacobs. Thanks, to all for your posts. They help me look for
things, new. Stella

Stella & List,
As far as anyone knows there was only one Jacob Cagle, who served in
this war.
Many things were learned about him from his Pension application.
There have been many good postings about him in the last few years.
Dr. Joseph Childress, is an ancestor of this Jacob Cagle. Although I
couldn't find his original post, William Bond made reference to it
below. Stella, I hope this will answer some of your questions.
There were Jacob, Charles, and Valentine Cagle who settled in Warren Co;
Tn. This has been proven by an 1812 Tax List there.
There of course were early census records also. Keep in mind that what
you read below is first hand information. His birth in April 1755 is
only 23 years, since the arrival of his grandfather to the Colonies in
1732. There are several on our list who can help you.
Earl
