Mary Lou,
I see the problem you have concerning John Cagle, b. 1802. The 1830 census
of Sevier Co. has listed two Cagles named John. I don't suppose that both
of them would be children of William Cagle, b. 1754. As John G. suggested
in "Cagle Census Records of the South 1790-1850," your John Cagle is more
likely a grandchild of William. Unfortunately, some of the 1830 census of
Tennessee is not written in such a manner that you can speculate on family
relationships. However, I note that your John Cagle was listed on the same
census page with Henry Cagle, son of William. I don't know if that has any
significance.

I don't know exactly when they got there. My ggg-grandfather,
John Cagle,
b. 1802 NC m. Pheriby Rogers in 1827 in Blount County, TN. My
gg-grandfather, Lott Rogers Cagle, b. 1839 in Sevier County, TN m. Celia
Ann
Saffel in 1861 in Monroe County, TN. My g-grandfather, James Monroe
"Jim"
b. 1866 in Monroe County, TN m. Mary Lue Martha "Molly"Roberts in 1890 in
Rhea County, TN. I don't know when or where John & Pheriby (Rogers) Cagle
died. Lott & Celia (Saffel) "Celie" Cagle died in Red River County, TX.
James Monroe & Mary Lue (Roberts) Cagle died in Quinton, Pittsburg County,
OK.
William Cagle, Sr. is supposed to be the father of John but I have not yet
found proof of this.
William's father, Henry Cagle, Sr. was the son of Leonhart Cagle.
