Earl,
Congratulations on the best list out there. Being a Cagle, I have
enjoyed these past 4 years and look forward to many more. Following
below is information that I have posted before on the Cagles in
Tennessee. Most of this information was copied by the WPA during the
depression and can be found in the UT Library, the Tennessee State
Archives and other large genealogical libraries. The material is not
very comprehensive but might give someone a clue to a lost ancestor.
My Hardin County Tennessee branch of the Cagle family, descended from
David,
b. 1728 Ger., d. ca 1784-90 Cabarrus Co. NC, came from NC to Hardin Co.,
TN in the 1820's. With the exception of my g/g/grandfather, John
Cagle, b. 1813 Cabarrus Co., NC, d. 1879 Hardin Co., TN, and a couple of
his siblings, the rest of the family moved on in 1838 to New Madrid Co.,
MO. I have some census information on the New Madrid Co., MO Cagles, but
have had very little live contact with descendents of my ancestors in
that region. I am ever hopeful, and would enjoy contact with any person
that has an interest in that area.
Keep up the good work Earl.
David

David & List,
Thanks for the very nice compliment. The list wouldn't be what it is
without peope like you. You have been a great help to many people over
the years. I find your research to be as acurate as possible.
For our 5th. year I hope to find more data on Leonhart, before he left
Germany. It would be great to uncover info. on his parents & siblings. I
also feel there may be more baptismal records uncovered on his children.
Anyone have any sugestions on how we uncover these records?
Earl
