Moore County, North Carolina land grants on improvements to properties:
1795-100A on N side of Bear Creek at head of Schoolhouse Branch; 1797-25A
on S side of Bear Creek at Haw Branch; 1798-50A on Bear Creek; 1802-25A N
of Bear Creek; 1821-24A on S side of N prong of Bear Creek. Moved to
Hardin County, Tennessee in 1828. Then to New Madrid Co., Missouri in
1838. The Cagles of New Madrid Co., MO began arriving in the 1830's from
the Hickman/Perry County region of Tennessee. Paul, Simon and Henry were
joined in Mo in the 1840's by David Cagle, also from Hickman Co., TN. In
1840 and 1850, New Madrid Co. included that area which later became
Pemisoct Co. in 1851; post-1850 records of Pemiscot Co., and of adjoining
Dunklin County contain mention of many of the Cagles of 1840 and 1850 New
Madrid.

Hardin County was 27 in 1840; Susan, aged about 5, was living in Hardin
County with John; Debba Cagle Smith in Hardin Co. was 19 in 1840.

Page 305 of the census, Henry Cagle is shown with his 2nd wife Rebecca
Unknown, his daughter by first marriage, Eliza, age 17, as well as
Jasper, age 16 and twins Morrow and Adam age 5. The last three are
children belonging to Rebecca by a previous marriage. It is not known if
she is from TN or if she was already a Cagle or if Jasper, Morrow and
Adam continued to use the Cagle name. Note the following
estate settlement listing the names of Henry's heirs. Rebecca is
mentioned as his widow, but none
of the three children, Jasper, Morrow or Adam.
State of Missouri
Know all men by these presents that George Cagle as principal, Starkey
White and Daniel Winchester, as securities, acknowledge ourselves to be
held firmly bound unto the State of Missouri, in the sum of 500 dollars
for the payment of which we bind ourselves, our heirs, Executors and
Administrators firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals and dated
at New Madrid, this 21st of February 1857. The condition of the above
bond is that if George Cagle administrator of the estate of Henry Cagle
deceased,
shall faithfully administer said Estate, perform all other things
touching said administration required by law or the order, sentence or
decree of any court having jurisdiction then the above bond to be void:
otherwise to remain in full force. Given under our hands and seal this
day and date first herein written signed and sealed in the presence of me
this 21st day of February 1875.

George Cagle continued to live in New Madrid Co., MO through 1877. In
that year, he moved his family to Fannin Co., TX.
Some of this Cagle family continued to live in Morehouse MO as late as
1910.
