Margaret and List,
I wonder of Thurman Maness is related to Herman L Maness, 1884-1967, who
married Mary Alma Cagle, 1891-1960, Carthage, Moore, NC. Mary was the
daughter of John Ransom Cagle, 1839-1922.
I have nothing on Dempsey Cagle, 1913-1997, of Seagrove, Moore, NC. I do
have three other Dempsey Cagles, but none for this period. Perhaps,
someone
on the list can tell us who he is.
I was able to identify Roy Carlton Cagle as follows:
Roy Carlton8 Cagle (John Roberson7, Aaron Franklin6, Dempsey5, Jonathan4,
Henry Jr3, Henry Sr2, Leonhart1 Kegel) was born 20 June 1917 in
Montgomery Co., NC, and died 20 February 1997 in Carthage, Moore, NC. He
married Josie Phillips. She was born in Hemp Co., NC.

Burial: 23 February 1997, Tabernacle Meth Ch Cem., Carthage, Moore, NC
Children of Roy Cagle and Josie Phillips are:
2 i. Janice C9 Cagle, born in Moore Co., NC. She married Unknown Teachey

Good morning, this morning,
You are welcome for the additional dates & I hope that someday you will
come to NC, I am becoming pretty well acquainted with the cemeteries,
libraries, court houses, etc. in the area, we could "show you around".
It would be nice to meet a fellow "hunter".
Today we are going to Moore County (Pleasant Hill Church) to celebrate
the birthday of THURMAN MANESS who is well into his 90's. He is a
"walking" encyclopedia on family histories...there are MANESSES scattered
all in my lines. He is a delightful person, lives alone, is still
sharp-witted, pretty healthy, but almost blind. Should be an interesting
day.
Below are a couple obits that we found yesterday while poking around in
the Carthage Library...maybe you can connect them for me.....
