Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Carole and List,
Rather than giving you an outline I refer you to the Cagle List Archives: http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/search?path=CAGLE
There have been many good family history outlines written by many great Cage researchers over the years.
Valentine, is not in my direct family line so I refer you to the experts on his line.
Just click on the link and when the site is loaded type the name of the person in the search body.
There is some great information on Leonhart's, many ancestors
Take Care,
Eal.

Earl, thanks for letting
us know about this! I need a bit of a reminder; can you
take us back from Valentine to his father, grandfather,
great grandfather, etc etc as far back as we can?
Thanks, Kim Townsend Spangrude

I don't think it is possible to send attachments on the rootsweb.com mailing
lists. I think you have to send them directly to a person. Please send me
the attachment at carolescoaching(a)broadweave.net.

Hi LaMona and List Members,
The list will not let me send attachments. I tried twice and it wouldn't work. In previous mails I told of
how he died at the church altar after shaking hands with other members.
LaMona and list, this is a transcription of the newspaper article.
THE WEEKLY IRON AGE
Birmingham, Alabama Thursday morning May 29, 1884
Mr Volentine Cagle fell dead in the altar of the Baptist Church, in Paint Rock Valley in Jackson County,
Alabama on last Sunday.
Rev. C. Howell had preached that morning and at the closing exercises all the members of Church assembled
in the altar to shake hands, and while passing around in the crowd Mr. Cagle was seen to fall to the floor and on
examination was found to be dead. It is supposed he died of a heart disease.
Also note his name was spelled Volentine, an assumed typo.
According to My records he was born 2-20-1818 in TN. And according to this article and my use of a perpetual calendar,
he died on Sunday 5-25-1884.
As I mentioned before I hope this helps with those in his lineage.
Regards,
Earl D. Cagle

Helo List,
For some reason the list won't let me send small attachments. The article refers to Valentine Cagle III, at a church service.
He was at the Beech Grove Church in Paint Rock Valley in Jackson County, Alabama.
The men gathered at the altar to shake hands were he fell dead of an apparent heart attack.
Regards,
Earl D. Cagle Sr.

My records show Valentine Cagle b. 2-20-1818 TN. And if this is him then his
