I have a William C. Cagle son of Jacob Cagle and Elizabeth Gilmore born 1796 in GA and died 4/18/1881 in GA. If this sounds right let me know. I have several Mary's but as of yet no Mary Polly, not to say one of my Mary's wouldn't be her as I am still researching the Cagles.

Does anyone out that's on this list, happen to have anything on a Pearson

Lee, do you have maybe a sister to Zachariah named Sarah Cagle b. abt. 1808 in GA, father b. VA and mother b. MD (per 1880 Census)? My Sarah Cagle m. abt. 1828-1836 in GA to John L. Brown b. 5-5-1809 in TN. They had a daughter, Eliza Theodora, b. 8-20-1836 in GA. They moved to Warren Co., TN and then Franklin Co., TN. From there they migrated to Navarro Co., TX. and are buried there except Sarah who died in TN after the 1880 Census. Thanks in advance.
Frances McMullen
Sarah Cagle married Christopher Denman 1827 in Franklin Co., Georgia. Sarah
was born ca 1813 in North Carolina. Does anyone know the parentage of Sarah
Cagle?
A Leonard Cagle shows up briefly in the 1830's in Franklin County.
Betty Cason
I am not an expert.
David Cagle was born 1728 in Germany. I have no knowledge that he had a son
named John Francis, b. 1843. David would have been a little young at age 15
to have been raising a family don't you think? John "Dutchman" Cagle,
brother of David and others, was probably born in the 1730's, perhaps as
late as 1843?
John Cagle who was proposed to be the son of David, moved to Davidson Co.,
TN soon after 1800 and died in Robertson County TN in 1826.
I am not familiar with John Francis Cagle?

Still cleaning up my files...
My next question is concerning John Francis Cagle (1782; married to
Jane). One source has him as son of John Francis (1743), son of David
(this is where I currently have him). Another has John Francis (1782)
as son of John (son of Charles) and Lucey. However, I show the John
that is son of John and Lucey to be John (1802) who married Rachel Fox.
So, to sum it up:
1. What is the lineage of John Francis (1782)?
2. Is John Francis (1743) the son of David?
3. Is Charles the father of John (cir. 1775) that had wife Lucey?
If not, then who is the John that is the son of Charles (we know Charles
has a son John because of his will).
4. What is the lineage of John (1802) who married Rachel Fox (I
have seen at least four radically different ones)?
Please give me good reasons to move these folks (or not to). "Because
my database says so" is not good enough for me at this point, sorry.
But "because John G. Cagle says so" (or insert name of another prominent
researcher) might be good enough :-).

You asked about a George Cagel as the son of Leonhart Cagle. I have George Cagle Sr. as the son of Leonhart Cagle (originally Leonhardt Kegel) and Maria Elizabetha Magdalena Cagle (maiden name unknown) , born between 1740 and 1749 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA, before the family travelled to North Carolina, Moore County. They were roiginally from Germany and apparently travelled on the ship "Loyal Judith" in 1732. I have not yet verified with primary sources, but got this information from two other family trees that have been published online. Hope this helps! I would love to share information with you if this family line is in common.

I am having the same problem. I have just recently started on my family tree. On the LDS site, I found William as the child of Jacob and Elizabeth. However, on Rootsweb.com, another Cagle family member has Jacob and Elizabeth as the parents of Mary Polly. I have sent this other family member an email to see if she will share her sources with me, but am temporarily at a loss. If you find out anything, please share it with me! I would really appreciate it. If I find anything, I will let you know. If you are more experienced than I in geneology, perhaps you can find the sources used on those two web sites. Thanks for sharing!

Hi LaMona,
On the 1880 Sevier Co, TN, 10th Civil District, pg 449 B, family 220 is:
Cagle, George, w/m, 70, married, Blacksmith, NC/NC/NC
Cagle, Mary, w/f, 71, wife, Married, Keeping house, NC/NC/NC
Cagle, John, w/m, 32, son, married, work on farm, TN/NC/NC
Cagle, Cross, w/f, 15, daughter, married, house keeping, NC/AL/NC (this
would be John's second wife)
I do not have a marriage for George's daughter, Celia. When did she marry
Adam Garner? Do you know who his parents were? I have a Celia E. Cagle
married to Sparkes Daniel on 07 March 1882 in Sevier Co, TN. (Wouldn't this
be the daughter of George C. Cagle?) Sparks Daniel in 1883 was charged
with bigamy. Sparks Daniel was married to Sarah Williams on 04 Aug 1874 in
Sevier Co, TN. He filed for divorce on 23 July 1881 in Sevier Co, TN.
Apparently the divorce was never finalized!
I do have a marriage of an Adam Garner (b. c 1825) s/o Peter Garner & Betsy
Morgan. This Adam married on 31 May 1855 in Blount Co, TN Telitha Rogers,
d/o Jesse Rogers (1790-1855) & Mary Celia Cagle (1800-1870). Mary Celia
Cagle was d/o William C. Cagle, Sr. & Mary Barrett.
You sparked a reminder of some information that I copies years ago at the
Genealogical Forum of Oregon in Portland, OR. The book is entitled "Our
Ancestry", Family Records of Members of Blount County, Tennessee,
Genealogical & Historical Society, copyright 1988. Unfortunately, I copied
only a few pages of this book - only those that had names that I was
interested in. This is a little of the information that I copied from the
book:
This information was provided by Mrs. Karen Warren on page 66:
Katharine Walker Keeble b. 10 Oct 1838, m. 06 March 1862 Jesse Cagle.
Katharine was the daughter of Manly Keeble & Rebecca Rhea. (there is more
information if anyone wants it).
Mrs. Marilyn B. Garner provided the children of Eli GARNER & Elizabeth
ROGERS. Elizabeth ROGERS was the daughter of Jesse ROGERS & Celia CAGLE.
Celia was the daughter of William CAGLE & Mary BARRETT. Eli GARNER &
Elizabeth ROGERS son, Mansel GARNER married on 20 Oct 1872 Elizabeth CAGLE.
Eli GARNER & Elizabeth ROGERS son, Alexander GARNER married Elizabeth
(Cagle) GARNER the widow of Mansel.
If anyone wants this information I will type it up for the list.
