Hi Cliff & Ellen
My grandfather is Littleton Cagle (b.1860). I knew him well. He married Catherine Paris Dameron.
He was a son of Lindsey Corbin Cagle (b.1832) and Caroline May (b.1833).
John A. Cagle (b.1858) also was a son of Lindsey and Caroline. He married Ellen E. Dameron.
Issac Lafayette Cagle (b.1861) was a son of Lindsey and Caroline. He married Mary E. Moon.
There were 12 sons and daughters by Llindsey and Caroline. All were born in Alabama.
The Cagles moved from Alabama to Texas in about 1890.
The Cagles, Damerons and Perrys lived close together. Cagle borthers and sisters married Dameron and Perrys brothers and sisters.

Are you related to the Cagles?

Can anyone tell me who these folks are. I have several George Cagle and
Nancy combinations,
but none with a son T. B. Also, considering their ages, we would have to
assume both had
been previously married and chances are Brown is not the maiden name of
Sallie.

The first and possibly only area family reunion will be held on October
19th 2002, a Saturday, at the Pin Oak Lodge, located in the Natchez
Trace Resort State Park. The park is located 35 miles East of Jackson,
Tn on interstate 40 at exit 116. The park is also 7 miles Northeast of
Lexington, Tn.
The reunion will be for the families that settled in the Northwest part
of Decatur County Tn, Northeast part of Henderson County, Tn and the
Southern part of Carroll County, Tn. This includes the families of
Jeremiah Johnson, Rev John Priar Hill and his six brothers, Robert Cagle
Sr and his brothers, James Quisenbury Brewer, Gulledge, Quinn, Dodd,
Taylor and any other families not mentioned. Also invited, is anyone
who has a historical interest in this area.
The lodge has 47 units and cabins that can be rented and also a
restaurant. Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-250-8616 [this is
a toll free number].
This will be a great opportunity to meet our relatives who have worked
so hard in tracing our family lines, so, please, make your plans to
attend, tell everyone you know that may have a interest to attend. This
includes any web sites that would help notifying anyone who might have a
interest.
As this reunion will deal greatly with historical data and swapping
information, please get all your files and records, especially pictures
together and let's have a great time.

Does anyone have info on Doctor David Cagle's 2nd marriage. He married a young woman from Lobelville, Tn. They had one child. The child was Willy Ray Cagle. Born: Feb. 5, 1927. Died: May 12, 1927. The mother died and my Aunt Flora (Cagle) Buchanan took the child to raise and it passed away a few months later. The woman that Doctor David married was named Jenny or Jeanie . She died with TB. My cousin went with them to get married. She said she was only 6 years old at that time. They got married in Perry Co. Tn.

Has anyone ever found Cagle's, in the 1790 census other than Moore Co;
NC? It would seem that they would have been in other counties in NC, as
well as other states. The way I look at it is this is about 58 years,
after Leonhart's arrvial. This I think may be a good area to research
Cagle genealogy, in general. What have some of you uncovered in this
area? Earl

I hope someone on our list has access to the 1870 Marion Co; Ar; census.
I am trying to locate my g-grandfather Thomas William Cagle, born 1840.
He I think met his wife to be in this area. They were later to be
married in Oregon Co; Mo; just across the border. They married there on
July 24, 1877. Her name was Mary Elvira Cagle b. Aug. 1860 in Arkansas.
If the date of birth for her from the census is correct, then she was 17
when she got married. Just a month or so shy of eighteen. I have no
record of him for the 1870 census. Some of his family were suposed to be
living there in 1870. He would be abt. 30 yrs. old and I suspect a
single man. I have no data to indicate he was married before, although
he well could have been.
Any help or ideas on my brick wall is much appreciated. Also in this
time period was a female under 18 required to have parental consent?

response to my note from Gary Hawley I think. Patricia
Has anyone ever found Cagle's, in the 1790 census other than Moore Co;
NC? It would seem that they would have been in other counties in NC, as
well as other states. The way I look at it is this is about 58 years,
after Leonhart's arrvial. This I think may be a good area to research
Cagle genealogy, in general. What have some of you uncovered in this
area? Earl
