Lisa,
I do not know where Anna went either but I do have a theory, and it is only that, on where in AL she may have been from. As you know Charles Cagle's wife was Elizabeth Curb. Several of Elizabeth's brothers settled in Perry County, AL . In looking at what records are available online from Perry County, there are several Hickman Co names associated with Perry Co. I have always had a hunch that maybe Charles unknown son, and Anna's husband, may have followed his uncles to Perry Co AL and it was in that area he met Anna. Unfortunately, living in PA I have no access to records in Perry Co other than those online and those sent to me by Curb researchers. It might not be much, but it is a starting point.
Have a Good Day!

Tom, Earl and List,
I was going through my notes the past few days and I realized that I do not
know whatever happened to Anna Cagle, wife of the unknown Cagle and father to
John Cagle. After the 1860 census, where she is listed with Charles Sr. and
her son John, I have been unable to locate her. Does anyone know? I wish I
knew what county she was born in AL so maybe I could track down who her
husband was. Any ideas?

Earl,

Dana, Eddie and List,
According to the Civil War Soliders and Sailors System, this is listed
for Noah O. Rabb.
Eddie as Dana says, you should be able to get his Pension records.
The amount of data varies on these as to family information.
The National Parks Service, along with other orgainizations have done a
great job.
Not only do they protect Civil War Battlefields, but they provide much
needed research data.

CONFEDERATE NORTH CAROLINA TROOPS
62nd Regiment, North Carolina Infantry
62nd Infantry Regiment was formed at Waynesville, North Carolina, in
July, 1862. Its members were raised in the counties of Haywood, Clay,
Macon, Rutherford, Henderson, and Transylvania. The unit served in North
Carolina, then in July, 1863, was assigned to General Gracie's Brigade
and stationed at Cumberland Gap. Here many were surrendered in
September, but a number escaped from being captured. They returned to
the Asheville area and in April, 1864 had 178 men present. The records
show 443 men of the 62nd were prisoners at Camp Douglas. It continued
the fight under Generals Breckinridge, Vaughn, and Williams in East
Tennessee, then became a part of Colonel J.B. Palmer's command at
Asheville in March, 1865. Later it disbanded near the French Broad
River. The field officers were Colonels George W. Clayton and Robert
G.A. Love, and Lieutenant Colonel Byron G. McDowell.

Burke (present Alexander) Co., NC, and of Lucey Cagle who appeared as head of
household in 1820 Burke, after the death of old John. John, b. 1802, appeared
as a head of household in 1830 Burke, not long after his marriage in 1828 to
Rachal Fox. for more information on the possible ancestry of the Cagles of
Burke Co., see the sketch about Capt. John Cagle in the section on Jackson
co., NC.
In the 1830s, John, b. 1802, moved to Haywood Co. NC. where he settled
permanently. Joining him in the 1840s was an older brother, Henry Cagle Sr.
born 1789-1800 era. Nearly all of the Cagles listed in the Haywood Co.
censuses of 1850 through 1910 were descedants of these two men, John and
Henry Sr.
Rachal fox Cagle died during the 1860s, and John Cagle was married to Annie
Catherine Halxomb, 1836-1892, in Haywood co. on Nov. 6. 1869, and they became
the parents of three daughters born during the 1870-75 era.

Phebe, above. Mr Dunnegan died in the civil war. It is unclear if Henry 3
above belonged to John or Catherine, but seems to have gone by the name of
Cagle, drowend at age 13, ca. 1880. Catherine lived alone in 1880, is unclear
if was divorced, or John had died.
(there is more information and pictures on page112 one is thought to be John

John G. Cagle and see what kind of photo's were sent to them and or maybe he
is still in contract with this family and can give you a phone number or

Are you in treatment now for the Hemochromatosis now? My level was 1161 and
last time they checked it was down to 147, I will have one more treatment
next monday and then they will see how much more it has gone down. I'm hoping
I will only have to go in a couple times a year. I'm also sending a copy of
this to our Cagle group because I know there will be someone in your line on
it.

Angie & List,
I don't know if anyone answered your question or not.
Leonhart, was the first in our line to come to America. However, there
may or may not have been earlier Cagle's, who came first. And if there
were, it is not known if they are from this same line.
It has been proven that a few of his children were born in Germany. So
there is a link of records of Sembach, Germany just a few years before
his arivial to the Colonies, in 1732.
