Hi! I belong to about 117 of the family lists because I love genealogy
(my husband thinks I'm addicted !). I have found these 'lists' are
invaluable to my research, and the basis for most of my family
information. But one day I realized that I have 13,000 names in my
database, but have only seen about 25 photos of my ancestors.
Because of that, my nephew, sister and I spent about 2 months designing
a web-site: www.ancientfaces.com This site is for any/all families
to store not only their ancestors photos, but also family stories, old
documents, and traditional family recipes. We just went 'live' 11 days
ago, and we've tried to create (we're still working on it daily) a
'visual' compliment-you know, a "face" with a name. It's easy, free, and
anyone can upload as much as they like. Please check it out, and feel
free to post it to your members.
Thanks!

I don't know to whom you are referring to as "her".
According to one researcher who contacted us ,
Lloyd Henry Cagle's siblings are: Evette and George A.
George's wife=Margaret Frost
Their parents=John F. (or T ) Cagle and Mary J. Mitchel/Mitchle
However, I'm beginning to think that John or Lloyd may have taken on the
Cagle name. It is a puzzle.

This is a great site that you should keep for future reference. However, I wanted to make sure everyone knows that the site is not yet complete, so you may not find your ancestor on the list. List,
I received the following inquiry from Shelly who is trying to find
information her GG Grandmother. I have five Celias; however, none are
hers. I hope someone can help
her. If so, please communicate directly with her.
Note to Shelly: This is the Cagle List, many of these folks have much
more information
than I. I recall you said she was found on a 1900 US Census listing her
age at 46. I
would recommend you send all the information you have on Celia to the
list whose
address is included in the address element of this message. They are
good folks
and if she is a descendent of Ole Leonard Cagle, someone will know and
help you. I
think you said she married a "Berry" and a "McCord".
Sorry, I couldn't help you further.

Lee,
I hope you don't mind me emailing you. I saw all your posts on the Cagle
message board at familyhistory.com and you seem to have a lot of
knowledge about them so I thought I might ask you.....my gg grandmother
was Celia Cagle...my aunt has been doing most of the research and I
believe we have gotten turned around...we use to think she was Abraham's
daughter but I don't believe that is the case....my Celia Cagle married a
Constantine P Berry and had 3 children together Ebbin Monroe, Sherman,
and James Charles...they are from Aurora, MO....Celia divorced
Constantine, I don't know when and supposedly married a McCord....she
died in Colorado.....any clues would be appreciated.
I have Celia Manley's obit, my aunt sent it to me, if you are interested
would be glad to send it.
Thanks so much.
Shelly

There is a problem in making my family tree originate in Germany because
my mother and all her siblings claim that their grandfather, Lloyd Henry
Cagle, was full-blooded Indian. The eldest sibling, Oneise Cagle (fem.)
has told me stories of Lloyd being Blackfoot but raised by a Cherokee
family. She is now deceased. Oneise also told my mother that Lloyd took
her to a family cemetery and showed her buried Indian artifacts which
were reburied after she viewed them. I know that many Native Americans
hid their heritage to escape cruelty. Does anyone else have such stories
or connections to Lloyd Henry Cagle?
=============================
Midge & List,
Thanks for submitting your family to the list.
Midge, Cagle / Kegel is indeed of German heritage. The only way Lloyd
Cagle, could be
Indian is from his mother.
The only other way is for him to have been born
indian, then raised by and given the Cagle name.
Just as at one time there were once black slaves, who took the Cagle
name. This is known from black Cagle men, having served in
the Civil War.
Although not in all cases, most indian heritage
came from the female. A white settler meets &
later has children with, a full blooded indian woman. Or a full blooded
or half blooded indian
man has children with a white woman.
Yours is an interesting story and of course needs more investigating.

I'll send later, if needed.

John Cagle born 6 Jan 1818
death 26 Mar 1886, Rabbit Town, AL
married Mary J. Mitchel
born 17 May 1824, GA

Oneise also told my mother that Lloyd took her to a family cemetery and showed her buried Indian artifacts which were reburied after she viewed them. I know that many Native Americans hid their heritage to escape cruelty. Does anyone else have such stories or connections to Lloyd Henry Cagle?

currently living in Michigan. In her travels she came across this
information while
visiting in Tennessee.

Welcome to the Cagle list. We all are interested
in knowing more. If you don't mind please share
your data.
I recall a Loyd H. Cagle b. abt. 1856, in Winston Co; Al. Is this your
