Obituary: Jude Cagle, 71, Nampa, died Wednesday in Nampa. Services pending at
Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
I live in Kentucky and this is my first out-of-state research venture. Please help me know what to expect in Austin,Texas!
In Kentucky one HAS to go to the Office of Vital Statistic for records after 1911, but several locations have records earlier than that. Is this proceedure similar in Texas? To look for births, deaths, and marriages, do I have to go to the State Archives? Are the records transcribed, originals, or microfilm?
Where is the best place to go? What proceedures can I expect when I get there (what can/can't I take in with me)?
Thanks,
Emily Caudill

Dear David,
What was the name of John's first wife before Deborah Tabitha? Who were
John's other children? Did Rhoda, Nancy C, Mary L. (Pollymac), or Deborah T.
E. have children? You gave me the names of spouses already. You said Nancy
never married. I guess back in those days, if she had children nobody knew or
spoke about them, but I'm not going to assume she didn't have any.

Mary,
You have it correct. My Henry Cagle, Sr. apparently was the son of David, b
1728 Ger., while your Henry Cagle is likely David's brother, both being
sons of Leonard the emigrant. Is Inna Caterana the same as is listed as
daughter-in-law in Henry's 1802 will?
My Henry Cagle, Sr. was born in NC ca 1860, lived in Mecklenburg-Cabarrus
Co. 1790-1810. Owned land in both Cabarrus and Montgomery Co. NC and was
probably in Montgomery in 1820. Was in Montgomery Co. NC in 1830. Was on
the 1833 Tax List of Hardin County TN, and Entered 200 acres of land in
Hardin Co. TN which was surveyed 3rd July 1837. Henry Cagle, Jr. and George
Cagle, sons of Henry, Sr.,moved to New Madrid Co., MO ca April 1838. To my
knowledge, Henry Cagle, Sr. does not appear in the records of New Madrid Co.
MO. It is my feeling that Henry Sr. probably died between July 1837 and
April 1838.

Good heavens, does this mean that there are two of us on this List? :-)
SueB
(in TN)
P.P.S.
Bonham is the county seat of Fannin Co TX. Sue B is in Bonham. Perhaps she
can find George b. 1824 from MO and wife Melinda, or maybe she has info and
she's just not listening.

Howdy Folks!!
I was at the Irving Library today and printed up a list of Texas deaths from
1903-1941.
Births and Marriages are also available, in alphabetical order, with the
county and date out to the side.
Do ya'll have this information? If not, I can send it. Let me know.
I did not find George in Fannin Co. or Malinda. Let me remind you that my
Chas and Virginia were listed in the 1860 census in Hunt Co., city of
Ladonia, which is in Fannin Co. but the city limits borders Hunt and Delta
counties. Bonham is northwest of Ladonia.
