Hello board,
Does anyone have an idea about who could be the father of the John Cagle,
age 23, b. Sept 1876 in Mississippi, who was enumerated in the 1900
Tishomingo Co., MS, census with his grandmother, Sally Osborn.
I also have a note that a John Cagle Married Sally Osborn in Tishomingo
Co., MS, in 1876, but can't connect him to a family. Looks like the two
Johns could be father and sons. I am trying to figure where they fit into
the Cagle Family. Hope someone can help!
I'm confused; who are Daniel and Larkin's mother? Are there two Daniel
Blythe's?
Thanks!

Hi all,
Still looking for Gertude Cagle. Still haven't found anything on her. This
is my gmother. All I know is by my mother's birth certificate is says she is
26 yrs old. That would make her borned in 1893 in Clinton, Kentucky. Also,
found a census and on it, it said she was 36 and then she would of been
borned in 1883. Any help would be appreciated. She was also known as Guity
Mae or Gurity Mae. Have been looking for her for 5 years now. Have found a

In my tree info, I show that Johnanetta Hart was the first wife of John
"Dutchman" and they only had one child. I show his second wife as Catherine
? and they had 9 children. One of which I show as Jacob that is my direct
ancestor. I have always felt that the chances were that some of the children
I listed as children of Catherine were actually those of Johnanetta. Can you
help me out here? I would really appreciate you sharing any info you have on

THE STORY BEHIND "TAPS"
It all began 1862 during the Civil War, when Union Army Captain Robert Ellicombe was with his men near Harrison's Landing in Virginia. The Confederate Army was on the other side of the narrow strip of land.
During the night, Captain Ellicombe heard the moan of a soldier who lay mortally wounded on the field. Not knowing if it was a Union or Confederate soldier, the Captain decided to risk his life and bring the stricken man back for medical attention.
Crawling on his stomach through the gunfire, the Captain reached the stricken soldier and began pulling him toward his encampment. When the Captain finally reached his own lines, he discovered it was actually a Confederate soldier, but the soldier was dead.
The Captain lit a lantern. Suddenly, he caught his breath and went numb with shock. In the dim light, he saw the face of the soldier. It was his own son. The boy had been studying music in the South when the war broke out. Without telling his father, he enlisted in the Confederate Army.
The following morning, heartbroken, the father asked permission of his superiors to give his son a full military burial despite his enemy status. His request was partially granted.
The Captain had asked if he could have a group of Army band members play a funeral dirge for the son at the funeral. That request was turned down
since the soldier was a Confederate. Out of respect for the father, they did say they could give him only one musician. The Captain chose a bugler.
He asked the bugler to play a series of musical notes he had found on a piece of paper in the pocket of his dead son's uniform. This wish was granted.
This music was the haunting melody we now know as "TAPS" that is used at all military funerals.
In case you are interested, these are the words to "TAPS":
Day is done
Gone the sun

>From the hills
>From the sky
All is well
Safely rest
God is nigh.

Hi list and Leroy,
Did you get the file on John Fullbright's descendants that I sent you
last week? His wife was Elizabeth Rowe, that portion seems to be well
documented. A direct descendant of his is on the list and perhaps they
will respond as well. If you want it again let me know.
Gary
Hello list
I have been inactive for a while due to the fact that we have moved into a
new home that we had to remodel. What a job!!
As I was trying to catch up with the wonderful work you've all done this
summer, I ran across this concerning Jacob Cagle b: 1766. I am a direct
decendent from this line and have documented census info from Hall Co. GA on
this line. According to my info Jacob 1766-Oct 20 1856 married Elizabeth
Gilmore 1770-1831. They had thirteen children, one of which was Mary (Polly)
Cagle. Mary (Polly) married William C. Cagle (I suspect a cousin, but I'm
not sure how they were related) Feb 20, 1820 in Habersham Co. GA. William C.
Cagle is my big mystery, I do not know where he comes from and how he enters
the line. Mary and William had eight children, one of which was David
Crockett Cagle b: @1836. David was a brother to my ancestor Adler. I do not
list any other info on David Crockett other than that he died in Wister, OK.
Hopefully, this has been helpful. Hopefully it is correct. I would love to
hear back from you about David's line and to help you anymore, if I can. I
do have all sibling names and dates for the children I mentioned above. Let
me know if I can help.

alot of Cagle families, that share information back and forth, it dosn't cost
anything. You can ask any question you need help on and someone will try and
help you. I know I have seen that name somewhere. If you would like to join
us , just wright to the address above and ask them to put you on the list ,
you will get any and all the information everyone sends. I will forward your
message and see if Amanda belongs to any of the group.
Thanks again for sending information on the marriage . I do have
some Couple of Norris in with the Cagle , but not that name looks like about
the right time, so maybe married a cousin.
Thanks again Nancy Jane

Fullbright on abt 1840 in Carroll County,Georgia. They have 11 children.
I have only the names and yrs of birth on the children. Do you have
anything
more? If so, would it be asking too much to ask that you email it to me.
John Fullbright is the brother of my Benjamin Sr, b. 1819.
