Edna ‘Cricket’ Elnora Cage
June 22, 1922 - April 15, 2006
Edna “Cricket” Elnora Cage, 83, Kokomo, died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006, at
Manor Care Health Services. She was born June 22, 1922, in Howard County, the daughter of
Milton Greer and Musia (Shuck) Nixon and stepfather, the Rev. Everett Nixon. On July 30,
1945, in Kokomo, she married Royce E. Cage Sr., who preceded her in death in 1988.
She had worked at Stellite Corp. in Kokomo, then worked at Accurate Parts in Kokomo for
many years. As a wife of a Marine, she spent 20 years traveling with the Marine Corps. She
was a lifelong member of the Order of Eastern Star, member of Ki-Cu-Wa of Kokomo. She also
was active in Morning Star Church and Upper Deer Creek Church. She enjoyed shopping,
decorating and sharing time with her friends.
Surviving are a son ad daughter-in-law, Royce E. Cage Jr., and Michelle, Kokomo; two
grandsons, Andy and wife Wendy Cage, Kokomo, and Patrick Cage, Kokomo; one great-grandson,
Parker Cage, Kokomo; one sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Keith McMahan, Kokomo;
several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cindra Mae Cage; one brother, James Greer; and
one sister, Margaret “Peg” Flesher.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster
St., with Dr. Ray A. Freeman Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Albright Cemetery. Friends
may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made
to Guardian Angel Hospice.
