I read with great interest your posting on the Ancestry. com site.
I was always told about Places like Cage's Bend in Sumner County where a number of my
early ancestors lived and were buried.
I took this information with a grain of salt because of course Cages don't lie, but we
do strech the truth.
As far as I know I believe the I am a direct descendent of:
John Cage Died July 16, 1677 in Providence Maryland; his son
Major William Cage Born 1745 Died 1811 Major in the war for independance. buried in
Cage's Bend Sumner Co Tn.
His son was Wilson Cage 1770 virginia Died July1 1847
Leroy Howard Cage( Methodist Preacher) born1798 Sumner Co Tn Died 1874
William Porter Cage Born Jan 11 1826 Died 1903 Civil war vet. possbly as a Dr of oderly.
or Trooper in the 7th TN Cavalry
George Alexander Cage Born Nov 15 1887 Died Jan 21 1986
Orville Howard Cage Feb 24 1909 Died Nov 1stl 1968
Donald Howard Cage born Mar 5 1949 Died (not yet)
Jesse Travis Cage born Mar. 21 1990
Any information you might have on this branch of the Cages would be greatly appreciated. I
have tons of pictures from 100+ years, some of them have names and dates on the back, but
I do not know exactly who they are and how we might or might not be related.
Sincerely,
Don Cage
Greetings,
Don Cage, I am also a descendent of Major William Cage, but my ancestor was his daughter,
Priscilla Cage (1768-1849), who married William Hale (1759-1822).
Their son, Cage Hale (1786-1855), married Rebecca Rankin/s (1792-1871).
William Cage HALE (1816-1897) married Lucy Lanier PARKER (1821-1876).
James Thomas HALE (1847-1932) married Elizabeth "Liza" Cannon WATSON
(1849-1935).
Charles Haynes HALE (1869-1969) married Adoree Elizabeth "Dora"
COPELAND (1871-1917).
Ruby Fae HALE (1897-1992) married James Kellis DAVIDSON
(1891-1974)--these are my grandparents.
Dan, do you know where Cage's Bend is--I haven't found it on any of the old maps I
have found. Good to meet new cousins.
