Do have any further information about Olive Bradford and maybe her
father
Capt. William Bradford?
My exact note to you was:
"My source notes the Bradford (as in Mayflower) Genealogy, starting at 297-4:
Family of William Bradford and Hanna Parker, m. Winslow, Maine, Mar 1783.
Of their nine children, the third child was Olive, b. May 7, 1787. "
I said nothing about William being "Capt."; however, upon checking my notes
further, I find that he was indeed the Captain William Bradford in a line
with many Williams. I do not have any info yet on the early family life, just
vital statistics. I only recently found the "Mayflower" web site and
haven't
had the time to delve deeper.
I know Olive and William were probably living in Maine in 1825. Quoting from
_History of Hardin County, Iowa_, published in 1883: "Olive Bradford Miles
was born in Newport, Penobscot Co., Maine, April 24, 1825. She was educated
at Newport Academy, and commenced teaching school at the early age of fifteen
years, always commanding the highest wages . . ."
Since you knew this William was the "Capt.", do you have info to share?
