Sorry, Connie, no Chaffee-Cady cousin recognition here, and nothing else
rings specific bells either. That line Cady line would have broken off from
mine at the immigrant Nicholas, I think. Rock Falls looks on the map to be
right across the river from Sterling, Illinois, though. Sterling-Rock Falls
also seems to be right close to major pioneer migration routes westward
through Prophetstown, Nauvoo, etc. And, I have had some "shots in the dark"
work out like that, too. That's why I try them from time to time myself.
So, good luck!! Maybe they will ring a bell with others on the list.

Subject: Re: [CADY-L] Sterling, IL
Here's something a little farfetched, my great great grandfather
was James
Cady Chaffee, grandson of Rhoda Cady who married James Chaffee. Rhoda Cady
is the great granddaughter of Nicholas Cady.
(Rhoda4, Stephen3, Joseph2, Nicholas1).
James Cady Chaffee, 1804-1882, apparently abandoned his wife, Lucy
Adaline
Chaffee (they were cousins), with whom he had 11 children, and
"took up"
with another woman, Melinda Sales Denny, and they had either 2 or 3
children.
They may be the Chaffees in the 1880 census at Rock Falls, Whiteside Co.,
IL. However, he is thought to have died at Sterling, Whiteside Co., IL,
June
26, 1882.
Does anyone see a Cady cousin connection there?
