Couple of points to be corrected in your OUTSTSTANDING work.
1. Nicholas born between 1615 & 1627 died before 1712 in Groton Middlesex,MA. What is
known is be was a bound apprentice which was from 7 to 15 years of age until he reached
21. Judith was born in 1629 and they married in 1648 (48-21=1627 so that is where that
date came from.) But,he was probably older. If he came with the Knapps in 1630 he was born
between 1615 and 1624. Apprentices were not Slaves and he was raised by the Knapps. A
Nicholas Knapp was listed with the Knapp family in 1630. But that gets rather confusing,
because there were then two Nicholas Knapp's neither it appears related to William
Knopp/Knapp.
I'm of the opinion he was born after 1615 and was like a big brother to the Knapp
children. He did have a sister Sarah also. FYI he was listed as a Carpenter, but
Watertown was a shipping point for barrels which were used for beef, grain and other
products. Supposedly the name Cady was slang for a Stout barrel (AKA Hogshead), but that
word meaning is lost to the language.
