Hello Jeannine. I am a Tucker from south east Dallas County, TX also. My great
grandparents were George W. Tucker and Jennie Cady. Jennie was born about 1881-1883 and
the second wife of George was born ca 1848 to one of the earliest Tucker families in
Dallas County. Jennie's parents were James Franklin (Frank) Cady and Elizabeth
Tucker. Those two batches of Tuckers are not supposed to be related to each other.
George's Tuckers married into the Chenault and McCommas families after arriving in
Dallas County about 1846 and his parents John Stephen Tucker and Agnes McNew came here
from Perry County, MO.
I found Jennie on the 1900 Parker County census with James F. (blacksmith), wife Martha E.
(Elizabeth) married 21 years, sisters Jessie & Lena and brother Donnell
"Don" Cady. They are living in the same home as Sterling Cady - same info shown
for where born (MO)and where parents born (father IN mother MO) as James F. and also a
blacksmith. From the ages of Sterling and James F. I would assume they are brothers. No
wife is listed for Sterling but there are several children.
Jennie married widower George about 1902. George had a great many Tucker children between
those two wives including two sets of twins with Jennie.
Just recently, I found the 1880 Hill County TX census that shows Richard Cady (born IN and
also a blacksmith) with what I read as Elizabeth TUCKER (not Inker) and Richard's son
James F. - her husband. They married about 1879. It does have an error because it says
Elizabeth is "daughter" and James F. is "son in law". That should say
"daughter in law" for her and "son" for him. Other children of
Richard listed are Lewis, Sterling, Nancy, Samanthia & Robert.
I believe all of Richard's children were born in MO.
I found Richard on the 1870 Vernon County, MO, Blacksmith born IN - no wife but children
Samuel, Amanda, James F., Lewis B., Sterling B., Samantha, Robert L., Nancy A..
Then Richard was found on the 1860 Cass County, MO, Blacksmith, born IN, wife Ellen (born
Ky?) children Samuel, Malvina (same as Amanda?), Matthias (deceased or moved out 1870),
James F., Lewis.
I have also walked the Lee Cemetery and taken photos. A great many of my known family
members are buried there - Kelly, Cady/Cade, Tucker, Cox, Chenault. I believe the W. H.
Cady (very old headstone) born 1884 was the son of Sterling Cady - he is shown as a 6 year
old living with Sterling on the 1900 census as William H. That makes him a cousin to your
Nancy Cady Tucker correct? Your Nancy appears to be a sister to my great great grandpa
James Franklin "Frank" Cady. I suspect her husband Oran Franklin Tucker was a
brother to my great great grandpa Elizabeth "Lizzie" Tucker Cady. Do you have
info on that Tucker line you could share?
