To Y. or V. Dodge, your message is over 5-6 years old but have just realized that the
names in that bible are the same ones I have been working on all day. What ever happened
to that family bible- do you still have it or did you give it away?
What a godsend this information is that you posted here in year 2002- this will help me a
lot.
William Elias Cady was the son of James Cady and his wife Mattie but I don't know her
last name. Anyone????
James Cady was the son of Elias Cady born 1805, died 1889 in Oneida County, and his first
wife whose name I have not yet discovered either. I would love to know who she was. ???
Elias married a second time after the 1850 census to Fidelia or Fanny Andrews. Elias had
six children with Fidelia and at least five with his first wife, including James who was
born about 1837-1839, and including James' brother Benjamin Franklin Cady born between
1832 and 1840 who was married to Mary Ann KEECH, daughter of James Keech Junior and his
wife Mary/Sarah Mounteney. (I am a Keech desc. in same extended family).
This Elias Cady born 1805 was the son of Elias Cady born 1763 in Smithfield, Rhode Island,
and his wife Olive Baker. Other children of Elias Cady Senior and Olive Baker were:
Seth Baker Cady born 1790 had 2-3 wives and several children, died in Oakland County,
Michigan as did his father Elias
Rhoda Cady born about 1792 who married Silas Darling
Sarah Baker Cady born about 1794 married James Graham
Philinda Cady born 1795 who married David Dunn
Mary Cady born about 1818 who married Hiram Austin- (there is a 13 year gap between her
and Philinda, was Mary just a very late baby?)
If anyone has additional info for any of these folks, please let me know?
Thanks from Nora
