Mike,
Wow, I thought that someone had told me a couple of years ago that Lydia was
a further descendant than that. So, I am going to assume that my Elizabeth
and your Lydia who of course were first cousins, also had a very close
relationship since they had their marriage intentions announced at the same
time. Yes, Elizabeth's mother is Prudence Palmer. Ebenezer and Prudence had:
1. David
2. Elijah
3. John
4. Elias
5. Eleazer (the grandfather of Elizabeth Cady Stanton)
6. Ebenezer
7. Prudence
8. another son I cannot remember his name right off hand
and then my Elizabeth.
These are not in birth order.
Elisha married Ruth Waterman (d/o Asa and Ruth (Beebe) Waterman)
John married Polly Waterman of the same parentage
and David married Zilpha Waterman, another child of Asa and Ruth.
Elisha and Ruth had a son named Elisha Waterman Cady and he had a son named
Waterman Cady.
According to my research, David and Zilpha had no children as she died young
and he remarried.
But, I believe this could be wrong. I know by my research that in Montgomery
Co. after the death of My Elizabeth and apparently after the marriage of her
husband, Dr. Timothy Puffer to Mary (?), it shows a young family living with
them. Mary had no family whatsoever, so I wonder if this young family was
the Family of Waterman Cady mentioned in the will in 1847 and Waterman was
raided by Timothy and Elizabeth as a favor to her brother David. And then of
course being mainly raised by Timothy and Mary. Mary thought enough of them
to have her exec's try and find his family as he was deceased at the time her
will was proved in 1848. None were found though. I sure would like to clear
up who this Waterman Cady is.
Warm Regards,
June
