A wonderful volunteer at the Godfrey Library in Connecticut sent me
this, and gave me permission to forward it to you all. I'm still
trying to prove Palmer Cady, who married Rebecca Reed in 1812, had
time for an earlier wife and a son Ela. I haven't done it yet. The
Godfrey specializes in genealogy in and around New England. Their
meager funds come from the public. They will do look-ups, if you cite
volumes they may have, send photocopies and accept donations. Their

Here's the CADY part of the message:
- -------------------------------------
While at Godfrey last week I ran across another neat book that I have
never seen before - someone (I think there was a date of 1914 on it
somewhere) had painstakingly hand transcribed the vital records of
Joseph Fisk, pastor of 2nd Church of Christ in North Stonington,
"Breakneck" Church in South Killingly and Cong. Church of Christ in
Killingly. It was done in beautiful handwriting in an old ledger
book.
This area is down in New London County.
2nd Church of Christ, N. Stonington:
Nov. 8, 1738: marriage of Aaron Cade to Anna Palmer
Nov. 8, 1738: Ebenezer Cade to Prudence Palmer
I suspect that these are brothers who married sisters on the same day.
This work was not indexed, so I could have missed more Cady
references, but the following few were the only ones I saw:
Baptisms, "Breakneck Church", S. Killingly:
Jesse and Margaret Cady, twins of Barnabas and Margaret Cady, 14 Apr
1752
Sarah Cady, d/o Barnabas and Margaret Cady, 1 May 1755
Baptisms, Church of Christ, Killingly (here I got sloppy and didn't
transcribe everything):
All children of David and Lois Cady born between 1777-1784: Jadock,
Jonathan, Joseph, Jonah, Mary, David, Hervey, Salley
1796 - Kate, d/o Capt. David and Lydia Cady
1795 - Lydia, w/o Bro. David Cady (? - she was getting baptized?)
1794 - Lydia, d/o Capt. David and Lydia Cady
1802 - Mina, d/o Capt. David and Lydia Cady
1801 - children of Josiah and Chlor Cady: Clarissa Cutler, Mary, Lois
