A wonderful lady sent me the following excerpts from
"American Ancestry, Columbia County, New York State"
American Ancestry: Giving the name and descent, in the male line, of
Americans whose ancestors settled in the United States previous to the
Declaration of Independence, 1776.
By Thomas P. Hughes. VOL. II. Local Series, Columbia County, State of
New York, 1887.
It has some problems. In particular,
"Oliver, who was born in Liverpool, England, 1741, . . .
son of DR. AARON CADY of Liverpool, who emigrated
to Saybrook, Connecticut in 1614."
Has anyone else heard of either (1) a Dr. Aaron from Liverpool? or (2)
A well-known mistake that would seem to have our American-born Aaron
coming from Liverpool? The rest of the citation fits Aaron (m. Ann
Palmer), son of Aaron (m. Mercy Fuller), son of James (m. Hannah
Barron), son of Nicholas (Father of us all)
I found the answer to my question about the two Allens here; they are
indeed the same person.
Here are the excerpts. I don't have the book, and the lady asked not
to be bothered.
