I assume that you have the earlier dates of Nicholas and Judith Knapp Cady.
Also the dates for their sons James and Daniel as well as their wives and
children. In the list of James' children there is an Abigail. In the list
of Daniel's children is an Ezekiel. These cousins married and had a son
Ezekiel who married Abigail Stoddard March 14, 1744 in Pomfret. Ezekiel and
Abigail had a son Charles ( also sons Stoddard Brimfield and David, as well
as daughters Susanna, Joanna and Deborah). All born in Pomfret and Coventry,
CT.
Charles b. Jan 1, 1748 was one of the earliest settlerd in Montgomery Co., NY
where he married in 1776, Janetjie (Jane) Helmer, b. Feb 25, 1760 to Phillip
J. and Elizabeth Harris Helmer.
Ezekiel Cady, b. Apr. 17, 1791, was their 7th child of at least 13 children.
Ezekiel married Adeline Carley on June 23, 1818 in Annsville/Camden, Oneida
Co., NY, where he and his brother David Studdert Cady operated a stove
factory which was sold in 1821. Ezekeil and Adeline left Camden in 1837 and
trekked to Cook County, IL with their 7 children, the 3 eldest being Arad
Albert, George Nelson and Fannie M, b. Dec. 1822 - she was named for
Ezekiel's brother Phillip Helmer Cady's recently deceased wife, Fannie
Edgerton. They eventually settled in the town that they named Palatine, for
the area of Montgomery Co., NY, where Ezekiel and Adeline had grown up.
In 1842, Fannie M. Cady married Milton Foskett, the son of another
farmsteader in Palatine, Cook Co., IL. There are Foskett children buried in
the Cady Cemetery in Palatine, Illinois. If you can copy and paste into your
site and go to
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilcook/rdata/cemetery/cady.htm
you will find 7 Foskett graves.
There was a Cady connection with a Fawcett family but they are unrelated to
the Fosketts.
Ezekiel and Adeline were my g3gparents. Their line is well defined in
Palatine as well as a picture taken of them @ 1865 which I donated to the
Palatine Historical Society.
