Thanks for the note, Betty. I descend from the mysterious Cadys of Windham
County, Connecticut, who are not listed in either Cady book. I have
researched back to one William Augustus Cady, born about 1807, in Brooklyn,
Connecticut. He married Melita Vinton in Southbridge, Massachusetts, in
December, 1834. In 1840 he and Melita and daughter Sarah were still living
in Southbridge, but they returned to Connecticut by 1850, living in
Woodstock. Melita died in 1851, and there is a mysterious "Augustus Cady"
living in Brooklyn with another wife, Frances, in 1860.
Brooklyn has no probate for him. I can find no other reference, such as
cemetery record. Daughter Sarah is my 2nd great-grandmother, and I can
provide the line backward to William Augustus. Since Sarah was the only
child, I find myself the lone family researcher. I would dearly love to
find the right parents for my Wm A.
There is a Wm. A. who appears in the original Cady Genealogy, but it seems
that there may have been more than one by that name. If Jim would have an
"orphan" list, I would like this family line to appear. Maybe someone knows
the missing link!

<< I would also like to send Jim the info I have on my Cady
line. Does he
have
an email address? Cinda >
He recently changed his address to avoid the plague of spam he was
getting.
Jim, are you reading this? I will not give out your address unless
you
say
it is OK.
If Jim does not reply to you in, say, a few days/week, let me know and I
will
contact him directly to ask permission to give you his address. He
is not
online all the time.
