Thanks for your response. I have scoured the Barbour marriage records. No
obvious Prudence. Yes, she might have been a Cady herself. Penuel is listed
on the CT list of Rev. War participants, plus in an early newspaper article
(for being AWOL with others from his area). He is not on the DAR accepted
ancestors list.
He lived his married life in Pomfret CT and is buried in the Sabin
Cemetery. I have his property deeds there, in Killingly and Pomfret. His son
Chester inherited his saw mill and grist mill. I found Prudence's name (no maiden
name) on the original town records of Pomfret, when Penuel died in 1800. She
requested her son Chester take over handling the probate, as she did not want
to be the executrix. I am continually looking for a Prudence (born ca 1750)
in Windham Co. CT who married Penuel Cady -- but so far have not found her in
any lineages that I have come across.
