I saw a Cady on
Genealogy.com/Cady who has been looking for years,
Hazel is not in the Barbourn Collection of Connecticut families. Which if you read up on
Church activies in Connecticut counties, you will learn there are hugh holes in some of
the neighborhoods. Allen's book has only about half the Cady's in New England
listed.
The only way to find him is to exclude all that do not match and hope you find a thread.
Example, If he was from New England before 1790 there is a 75% chance he is from the
Nicholas line. There is a 50% chance that he was from Connecticut, versus MA, VT, NH, or
RI. After 1790, many of these families moved to PA,Upstate NY and OH.
Typical families doubled in size every 28 years from 1630 to 1790 after that it is much
harder. There were 300 Male Cady's in 1790 of which 100 were identified, the 200
others are dependents who hopefully can be whittled down.
