Elisabeth married Timothy PUFFER on 25 Nov 1779 in
Shaftsbury,Bennington,VT. Timothy was born on 06 Jun 1756 in Canterbury,
Windham, Connecticut. He died in 1805 in Of, Ballston, Saratoga, New
York.
Elizabeth Cady was born @1753 probably Coventry, Tolland Co. Conn. She
married Dr. Timothy Puffer (Timothy, William, Richard, James George) on November 25,
1779 in Shaftsbury, Bennington Co. VT. They removed to Ballston, Saratoga Co.
NY, and then to Glenville, Schenectady Co. NY, where at the age of 43
Elizabeth was killed by Indians in 1796. She is buried on the family farm in the
family Cemetery along with atleast 14 other family members, who are in unmarked
graves. Elizabeth's grave is marked by a headstone
Timothy remarried his 2nd wife, Mary (?). Mary had no relatives. Timothy
lived in Montgomery Co. NY and then in Paris, Onieda Co. NY before removing and
helping to settle the town of Junius, Seneca Co. NY. There he and his 2nd wife
remained until their deaths. Dr. Puffer died in 1827, and his widow died in
1841. Both are buried in Southwick Cemetery in Junius Twp.
At the time of Mary's death, her executors were trying to find the children
of Waterman Cady who was deceased at the time to add them as heirs along with
the children of Dr. timothy and Elizabeth (Cady) Puffer
