Greetings list members,
It is wonderful to see a posting. Thanks Fred for livening things up.
This last year I have spent a lot of time proving my Cady lineage. The
results are:
Stoddard Cady(1752-1795) son of Ezekiel Cady and Abigail Stoddard, is a
proven Revolutionary War soldier with the Daughters of the American
Revolution. I have also submitted proof on Stoddard's father-in-law, John
McMaster(s) with DAR.
Nicholas Cady (m. Judith Knapp)--I have proven my lineage to him for
membership in Colonial Dames of the XVII Century. I have also proven
Judith's father William Knapp and Nicholas's son Daniel.
Finally, National Society of Daughters of Founders and Patriots requires
proving the family surname to a Revolutionary War soldier (Stoddard Cady) and
to a Patriot (Nicholas Cady). While someone before me proved lineage to
Nicholas, no one has proven it in recent years. I am a new member of this
Society.
It is an obsession, and hobby of mine to "prove" these great ancestors.
Now my request--Does ANYONE out there have any proof on James Cady, son of
Nicholas and Judy. I need a will or a deed. I'm willing to share--if you
will share with me.
Let's hear more from all of you.
