Hello! thanks ever so for your CADY input...I believe from my info that there
were Hezikiah and then his son Hezikiah (junior)sheesh. My cousin (my mom's
brothers child) still lives in Muskegon and she comes from ALbert CADY and
Katherine Krauss also. Her name is Anna Olsen Alderman. She is a teacher there in
Muskegon.
My g-g-grandad ALbert was the son of Ezra and Julia Dixon. You are right,
Ezra settled in that area when it was still "Indian territory" Built a log cabin
etc. His land is documented and I have the land deed off the net as well as
his dad's (John Cady who's wife was Abigail Fifield) my mom recalls the old
cabin. Ezra was a carpenter, played the fiddle as did my g-grandad Albert. Left
handed both of them. My mother remembers the cabin burned down in later years
and supposedly since those olden times they have now built condos on the land
there. I haven't ever been there. I know the Twin Lakes Methodist church has a
history in a brochure that my grandma (Ellen Viola Cady Olsen Dunn...married
twice we come from her first husband Torgar "Tom"Olsen) showed me once...it is
since long lost. My g-dad Olsen helped build one of the first churches in Twin
Lakes. The baptist church. It later became a bakery and the town built the
methodist church which my g-dad Olsen and my g-grandad ALbert helped build.
Anyway I have had a dickens of a time trying to get in touch with the old
churches there and see about the history. Twin Lakes is so small that there isn't
exactly a web site. Chuckle. Also, there used to be beach cottages on lake
front there that my g-ma Ellen had built and sold...they named the beach after
her middle name VIOLA beach. Let me know if you get up to the Twin Lakes
cemetary. All are buried there. My g-ma Ellen is on the Mitchell lot as g-pa Olsen's
first wife (Agusta Mitchell)had the plot so my g-dad Olsen and my g-ma Ellen
CADy Olsen Dunn are both buried there instead of on the CADY plot.
Thanks again!
