Found in Suffolk Co, England in the year 1325 - Ricardo de Cady (Richard of
Cady). This seems to point to Norman connection. I would not assume this to
be necessarily correct. It is known the surname is pronounced :Kay-dee" and
was spelled several ways, most commonly Cade and Cady. The french also had a
surname spelled Cade (Type of Wine Barrel, nicname for a stout frame) The
English Surname Cade is much older and more common. I believe this is the
name that Arthur referred to as from Cad-ia
