Earlier researchers thought BJCâs father was Joseph Cleveland Cady
1770-1840. There is room for him in that family, but there is no evidence to
support him in that family. My research found a Joseph C Cady Sr 176x-1821
was more likely BJCâs father (or Uncle) and JCC Sr had a large number of
boys. These Siblings were Daniel Wilson Cady 1786-186x, Joseph C Cady Jr
1794-186x and Naham Cady 1815-188x (in Addition, There was possibly a Silas
Cady b 1805 and several daughters) JCC Sr had at least one brother, David
Cady 176x-1821 and he is far easier to track, he shows up in Butternut,
Otsego Co, NY, Wayne (Pike)Co, PA and Mill Creek Hamilton Co, OH between
1780 and 1820. David and Joseph Cady are not yet found, but were likely
related to Penuel Cady 1732-1800. The only clues to him are his birth, the
death of his father, James, and the connection to his sisters Bathsheba
Johnson and Abigail Church of Otsego Co, NY. Several other names are
important: Lucinda Cady 1763-186x (wife of David, living with JCC Jr in
1850.) Harris Penuel Cady (son of Daniel Wilson Cady), Pennell Cady (son of
Naham) and Penuel Cady (son of BJC)
