I'm familiar with the Y DNA testing. I haven't been able to rope any of my male
relatives into it yet, but I'm still trying. Anyway, it doesn't matter for this
line since Cade is through my maternal side.
What I'm hoping is that over the next several years the Ancestry DNA database will
grow so we can use that information as extra support for the written records and to debunk
some of the "false assumptions." It's an exciting time to be into genealogy
since the DNA craze represents a lot of possible leads and breakthroughs of the dead
ends... we just have to wait for the database to be built. Of course, the testing needs to
go hand in hand with good research to translate the science into history and stories.
I'm very interested in this name in my family since it's one of the
"oldest" I have been able to cross reference with my genealogy research and DNA
testing - it's very nice to have "proof" that the historical record matches
the scientific clues. It makes this line seem more real to me.
