Longmont Ledger (Longmnont, Boulder County)
March 31, 1905
CADY-In Longmont, Thursday, March 30, 1905, of internal hemorrhage, Mrs. Adelma Cady, aged
72 years, 9 months and 17 days.
Mrs. Cady's death was very sudden. Mr. and Mrs. Burke Turell reside in the same
house, and bade her goo nigh about 9 o'clock. This is the last time they saw her
until they discovered her body on the floor of the bath room, where she had evidently
fallen, striking her head a hard blow. It is not likely she knew anything after the fall.
As it was necessary, according to our laws, that the coroner be notified, Mr. Bucheit
came over at noon and held an inquest, the verdict rendered being "Internal
Hemorrage."
Adelma Richardson was born at Byron Center, N. Y., January 12, 1832. Married to Hiram
Cady, January 14, 1854, who was killed at the battle of Frederickson, Va.
She came to Longmont about 1878, and was the sister of the late Postmaster, O. ?(second
initial hard to read) Richardson. She leaves a brother in Tampico, Ill., another brother
H. L. Richardson, of Longmont, and a sister, Mrs. H. P. Robbins, of Los Angeles, Cal.
Mrs. Cady was a devoted Christian woman, a deaconess of the Congregational church for
years.
