Hi Merisha,
Some of us will try to help, but don't get your hopes up, and you'll have to give
us some more clues.
First, your post has several spelling mistakes and "Jon" is VERY uncommon,
compared to "John". Are you sure he spelled it that way?
Second, you should know that the chance of one of his friends being interested in
genealogy and seeing your post is very small. All you can reasonably hope for is one of us
can find his birth and/or death record. If we do, you may be able to find his obituary,
which will tell you a little about him.
You are probably about 20, (16 - 24) and your mother was probably about that age when you
were born. If your father was roughly her age, he is 32 - 48 today, and probably living.
That makes finding him harder. Most genealogy is about people born before 1900. If you
could tell us how accurate my guess is - without telling the world your exact birth date -
it would help. If you know that Jon was born 1940 - 1950, or 1950 - 1960, or 1960 - 1970,
that would help.
If - again, without revealing your birth date - you tell us what county and state you were
born in, that would help too. If your father was a long-distance trucker, and met your
mother in Seattle, it isn't going to help. If he went to high school with your mother,
got a job in the same town, then abandoned you at the age of two, we may be able to find
something. An awful lot of genealogy is based on counties, not towns.
You don't want to post your entire sad story on the web for the world to see. We do
need some more clues, though. If you'd like us to try, think about what you could tell
us about him without revealing too many details.
Again, don't get your hopes up, and don't reveal too many personal details, but
we'll try to help.
