Am looking for descendants of Benjamin Cady, 1833-1906 and Harriet Bishop Cady Sept 23, 1835 - July 03, 1902 - both buried in Necedah, Juneau Co., WI. Had at least two children: Ellen and Frank. Ellen married John Hinton of Juneau County. Benjamin and Harriet were married in Illinois.
Anyone know of this line?
Lois
If i had to take a guess it would be James Hosmer (of James and Elizabeth)
and his wife Elizabeth Aspinwall. As ... the dates are right - Zebulon is
buried in the Aspinwall Family cemetary - one of the sons of James has a
daughter
also named Zerviah. I have placed my bets ...
John Scott
New Windsor,Md.
stuck stuck stuck. Thats my Sally Cady b. 1801 probably RI - more then
likely Providence. Married 1820 at the Beneficent Congrrgational Church to
a Scotch-Irish laborer named Alexander McFarland - who had the misfortune to
commit suicide in the twilight years of his life. For a time Alex and Sarah
removed to Ohio but returned.
As i examine the Cadys at Providence - I have always been intrigued by the
marriage of Zebulon Cady who m. Sally Freeman - he also married Rebecca
Atwood. Zeb m. at Providence but didnt seem to hang around long but removed
to Conn. The Cadys like their Conn roots.
At any rate - Sarah Cady(1801-1849) - she may be the daughter of Sally
Freeman - if so this presents a real twist of coincidence. If this Sally
Freeman is the daughter of Dan Freeman and Jemima Alexander of Attleboro
and NH. then my eyes are really opening as my recent find this week that
Jemima Alexander is the dau of Richard Alexander who appears to be also
my gr-gr-gr-gr-gr-gr-gr-gr uncle.
Heres how it meshes oddly - it starts off with the marriage of my gr -
grandparents.
Clarence Alexander (1871-1949) m. Grace Gilbert
Franklin Alexander (1847 -1888) Eva Caswell
Christopher Alexander(1825-1891) Sally McFarland
William Alexander(1781 -1825) Sally Cady
Henry Alexander (1754-1833) Sally Freeman(1769
John Alexander(1725 - ?) Jemima Alexander
John Alexander(1697 - ?) Richard
Alexander(1729-
John
Alexander(1697 -
I believe that John Alexander and Richard are brothers and sons of John
Alexander and Jemima Benson of Portsmouth,NH.
This is a repeat performance here. David and Roxanna (hutchins) Cady were
members of the
Beneficent Congregational Church in 1820. My Sally Cady was m. there in
1820 to Alexander McFarland a Scotch-Irishmen b. 1795. All of Alex's kin
were married at that Church. Sally (Cady) McFarland is buried(d. 1849) at
the Locust Grove Cem - however formerly she was in the Beneficent Cong
Church Yard
which was moved from the old burial yard at the presetn site of the Blue
Cross Blue Shield Building at the Corners of Weybosset and Empire.
Anyway ... the Cady Genelaogy and the newspaper account of this Davids
death leave a lot to be desired. The genealogy gives the impression that
David had about 15 kids - half of which were dead by the time he expired.
Yet - the newspaper account states that he had quite abit more living than
the genealogy proports - significantly. The Journal was making a comment
that this David had a huge family and now they were left to fen for
themselves. The Davids in RI seem to be spelled out correctly - allowing for
the fact that there were three. The one David (the dyer) did have a huge
family but he lived to 1840. My Sally may be one of the unnamed chidlren
of this David - not sure. At any rate ... the Cadys at Providence drive me
nuts !

Higginson Books has the Descendants of Nicholas Cady by Allen and the supplement to it listed on their web page <http://www.higginsonbooks.com/> I don't
know if the 1991 edition the Cady Genealogy by Jim Cady is still available, but believe he was planning a new edition for publication this year, but his
recent heart surgery may delay it. These books are also available on inter-library loan from any Family History Center.

Hi everyone,
Since I have no list of our subscribers' names (and don't know who
unsubscribes) I am not sure if Jim is still a lister. In any event, I am
sending on every good wish for recovery.
The time and effort he undertakes in putting us Cadys on the published page
is amazing and we thank you for it, Jim. Perhaps you will let us know where
we can send you our documented data--perhaps you will have an "orphans'"
page, where my Wm. Augustus will fit in.
Listers--if you live in northern climates, don't forget to get out to those
cemeteries soon! Snow will be on the ground before we know it.

OK, can someone do a look up, or tell me who "Waterman Cady" was? He is found
in 1850 census #043, New York City, Ward14.
Was this the son of Elisha and Ruth (Waterman), Cady? Or one of the other
Cady/Waterman's? If I am correct, this is the Waterman who came to Michigan,
Detroit area.
Thanks and Warm Regards,
June
Dear Cady researchers,
I am new to the Cady list, helping my nephew with research. Frank J Cady came
from Davenport, Iowa in 1886 to Spearfish, SD with wife Helen and daughters
Lulu, Clara, and Nellie. They homesteaded in Crook County, WY. Frank died in
1895. Daughter Lulu married James Oliver McDonald (25 Mar, 1865 - 1939) on 25
Ap 1895. Does anyone know of this family? Where can I purchase the Cady books
mentioned in vol 00: issue 60? Thank you. Mary

Thanks for informing us of this serious turn of affairs.
Jim Cady, I'm sure glad to hear you are doing well. Keep up the good work!!
Betty
Well, Jim if you are out there. Let us know. If you are doing another book
you might think of doing one on or with female lines. Especially since my
Elizabeth, the d/o Ebenezer and Prudence Cady isn't found in any book.
Warm Regards,
June
Dear Cady list mom,
Jim Cady also has a supplement. I've never seen it. Once I got used to his
system, I found I like his original book except for the fact that, having to
draw the line somewhere, he did not follow female lines -- one of which we
are on.
I know he is a member of this list (or at least was). He seems to be modest
about his books, or maybe he does not have any more to sell. I had heard he
also is/was collecting more data sent to him to come out with another
supplement.
