Can anyone help me with this interesting information that I can't make a
connection to for my Cadwalladers, please?
See Jesse Kersey 1768 m. Elizabeth Coates referenced below.
I have in my Cadwallader line Jesse Kersey CADWALLADER b. 1824 son of
Ruth Bogue 1780 and John Cadwllader b. 1778.
Thank you. Lea Simitz Buzby

Hi,
I have quite a few Elizabeth Musgraves, but didn't find Cadwallader.
However, the Coates were intermarried with Musgraves and I did find:
First Generation
1. Jesse KERSEY was born about 1768. He died 26 Oct 1845.
Jesse married (MRIN:2172) Elizabeth COATES, daughter of Moses
COATES and Hannah MUSGRAVE (MRIN:1574), on 26 May 1790.
Elizabeth was born 1771.
From Marianne Wolfman marianne(a)mail.ccnet.com 4/1997
Jesse and Elizabeth had the following children:
2 i. Hannah KERSEY.
3 ii. Lydia KERSEY.
4 iii. Mary KERSEY.
5 iv. Joseph KERSEY.
6 v. William KERSEY.
Coatesville, PA named in honor of Moses by his son Dr Jesse Coates on land
formerly owned by Moses who invented an apple peeling machine, a
self-setting saw and a horse rake. He was first Post Master of Coatesville
in 1812, per Edward Coates Sinker, Church Lea, Bosbury, Herefordshire, HR8
1FX, UK
Immigration of the Irish Quakers, p. 154:"Moses Coates, grandson of Moses
Coates, the emigrant from County Carlow, was married in 1770 to Hannah
Musgrave, daughter of Thomas Musgrave, an Irish Quaker of Sadsbury,
Lancaster Co, and became the owner of a tract of land now occupied by the
Borough of Coatesville, which was laid out and named in his honor by his son
Dr. Jesse Coates."
So, I'm guessing these were families that traveled together.
